There is a free tool that stops participating platforms from ever letting your images be uploaded in the first place. It is called StopNCII, and every creator should know it exists — even our customers.

Here is how it works. You pick the images or videos you want protected, on your own device. The tool creates a digital fingerprint — a hash — of each file. The files themselves never leave your phone or computer; only the fingerprints are shared.

Partner platforms check uploads against those fingerprints. If someone tries to post a matching file, it is blocked or flagged for review before it spreads.

The limits matter too. StopNCII only works on platforms that take part, and only for files you fingerprinted. Screenshots, re-recordings and edited copies can slip past hashes. It is a strong first wall, not the whole castle.

Pair it with the right expectations. Hashes match files, not scenes: a screenshot of a video, a re-recorded screen, or a heavily edited copy can produce a different fingerprint. That is why hash protection and active takedown work best together — hashes guard the big platforms, and scanning plus filings handle everything that slips past or lives outside the partner list.

Enrolling takes minutes per image set: choose the intimate images you most need protected, on the device that holds the originals, and let the tool create the hashes — the images themselves are never uploaded. Protect your highest-risk content first: the material most likely to be targeted is usually your most popular and most previewed work. Videos can be fingerprinted frame-based through the same program. Keep a note of what you enrolled and when, so your protection records stay as organized as your takedown records.
